Biography

Alexandre Mello is a genetic resources scientist based in Lima, Peru. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Oklahoma State University and has sixteen years of experience. Alexandre joined CIP in 2023, and his work focuses on improving the use and availability of potato, sweetpotato, and Andean roots and tubers maintained at CIP’s genebank. He is proud of improving the internal procedures for CIPs genebank management.
