Biography
Chalmers Mulwa is a social scientist based in Nairobi, Kenya. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and a Master of Science degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics from Egerton University, Kenya. He has over fifteen years of research experience in social sciences, including climate change impacts and adaptation, gender- and demand-responsive breeding for enhanced and inclusive adoption of agricultural technology, evaluating the impact of agricultural innovations, and agricultural technology market demand analysis. At CIP, he also leads research on markets and value chains within the Urban Food Systems Science goal. Chalmers’ research interests include climate change adaptation and impacts analyses, impact evaluations, markets and value chains, and gender and inclusivity.
