Biography
Elisa Salas is a senior research associate based in Lima, Peru. She holds an M.Sc. in Plant Breeding from the National Agrarian University La Molina. Currently, she works in potato breeding at CIP. Elisa is responsible for the crossing block, evaluation, and selection of families and advanced clones from two important populations: the Biofortified population (Iron and Zinc) and the Lowland Tropics Virus Resistance population (LTVR) with heat and drought tolerance. She has expertise in developing, training, and implementing breeding technological tools and Participatory Variety Selection methodologies for the adoption and dissemination of new varieties.
