Biography

Emmanuel Odum is an Agriculture and Management specialist based in Jos, Nigeria. With a rich background in Agriculture, he has managed agricultural projects in different parts of Africa’s most populous Nation, Nigeria. Emmanuel is an expert in Agricultural innovation management with keen interest in Agronomy and seed systems. He was the Senior Agronomist for Syngenta Nigeria Limited where he dedicated his skills and experience to the initiation and implementation of the Market development in the Niger Delta (MADE) project in Nigeria’s Delta, Edo and Ondo States. While on this project he drove several agronomic solutions and promoted agricultural innovation that contributed to increased yield, improved and sustained food security in the region. He was a graduate Research Fellow for the Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD), Africa with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Nigeria. He joined the International Potato Centre in 2023 as the Research Associate for the Excellence in Agronomy (EiA) project and is currently addressing challenges with fertilizer usage among Potato farmers on the Jos Plateau. He is particularly interested in research topics around seed systems scale-ups and their sustainability.
