Biography
Heidy Gamarra is a research associate based in Lima, Peru. She works within the “Regenerative Agriculture Area” at CIP. She completed her master’s degree in Entomology at the National Agrarian University La Molina. Heidy is responsible for conducting identifications of insect species and for using the ILCYM software (Insect Life Cycle Modelling), developing phenological models of insects, as well as disease transmission models (virus, bacteria), and generating risk maps for establishment and generation index affected by temperature. Her research interests lie in the general areas of epidemiology, evolution, ecology, and the dissemination effect of pathogens by temperature-dependent vector insects.
