Biography

Hélio Manuel Martins João is a Research Assistant/Agronomist based in Gurue, Mozambique. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agronomic Engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. He joined CIP in 2017 under the VISTA Project in Nampula Province as a Research Assistant for about two years and three months. He returned to CIP in 2020 to join the Sweetpotato breeding program in Mozambique as a Research Assistant/Agronomist in Gurue District, Zambezia Province. He has experience in managing greenhouses to produce vegetable seedlings, in the production and sale of manual pumps for agricultural irrigation, and as an agribusiness client adviser.
