Biography

Josphine Muriuki is a research assistant based at KEPHIS Muguga in Nairobi, Kenya. She assists Dr. Thiago Mendes with potato germplasm maintenance at the Tissue Culture Laboratory. Josphine joined CIP in 2013, working in the breeding program with a focus on purity and excellence in cleaning materials based on breeder preferences. Her key interest is to achieve excellence in the breeding program in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and to support Dr. Mendes’ work in breeding innovations. Josephine’s core dedication is to make the breeding work in SSA sustainable.
