Biography

Kattya Chipana is a Junior Research Assistant based in Huancayo, Peru. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture. She has experience in life tables, breeding of vector insects, virus detection by PCR, and managing crossing blocks. She started working at CIP in 2018 as a trainee and has been working in the crop improvement team since 2021. Kattya is responsible for the advanced trials, field experiments, multiplication, and maintenance of clones. She also supports breeders during the formulation of projects, management of the database, and staff supervision.
