Biography

Murali Chowlahiriyur Nagaraju is a senior research associate based in Bhubaneswar, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. With five years of experience, the focus of his work includes the project TAFSSA “Transforming Agrifood Systems in South Asia” in India and on seed systems. Murali joined CIP in October 2022 and has accomplished breeding new varieties and has worked on pre-breeding as well. Additionally, he is proud to have been involved in the genebank and innovations in seed systems. He hopes to impact the livelihoods of resource-poor farmers, food security, nutrition, and seed system development.
