Biography
Placide Rukundo is a crop management scientist based in Ambovombe, Madagascar. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from the African Center for Crop Improvement at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. His work focuses on conducting extensive participatory varietal selection trials of orange-fleshed sweet potato varieties in southern Madagascar to build a solid evidence base on agronomic performance and organoleptic acceptance. He also conducts qualitative research to understand the functioning of the sweet potato seed system.
