Biography

Sougata Roy is an agronomist based in Delhi, India. He has a passion for sustainable farming, weed science, and precision agriculture. Sougata graduated from Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya in West Bengal and earned his M.Sc. in Agronomy from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute.

Currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at the CIP, Sougata leads a team in India, managing the project ‘PZTM’ and publishing scientific papers. His expertise includes experiment design, statistical data analysis, and making complex research accessible. Sougata remains engaged in precision agriculture, drone technology, and remote sensing, having previously explored integrated weed management at IARI.
