The World Food Prize and Borlaug Dialogue

The International Potato Center (CIP) congratulates 2019 World Food Prize Laureate Simon N. Groot and all the other individuals who have been recognized for their work to improve the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.

CIP is participating in the 2019 Norman E. Borlaug International Symposium, or Borlaug Dialogue, by hosting a Breakout Session called A Living Laboratory to Prepare the World for Climate Extremes.

CIP Principal Scientist Jan Low, a 2016 World Food Prize Laureate, will also participate in two Breakout Sessions: Wild futures: Technologies for accelerating food-systems innovation towards the SDGs, organized by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security, and Farmers, Food and the Future: Vegetable Seeds for a Healthier World, focusing on the work of 2019 World Food Prize Laureate Simon N Groot.

CIP will also be present at the launch of the 2019 Global Agriculture Productivity (GAP) Report, which includes an article by CIP scientist Stef de Haan.
