Orange Flesh Sweetpotato

This subset contains twenty eight orange-fleshed sweetpotato accessions selected from the entire cultivated sweetpotato collection conserved at the International Potato Center (CIP) genebank. Material was selected by searching the dbase for currently available germplasm for national and international distribution, important morphological characteristics such as flesh and skin color which was taken together to create this subset. Sweetpotato has high nutritional and agricultural value, especially those with orange flesh due to the vitamin A content. The purpose of this germplasm set is to facilitate identification and access to this genetically diverse orange fleshed material. All farmers, researches, and breeders interested in this type of characteristics would benefit from ordering and evaluating this subset.
