Top most distributed Traditional cultivar/landraces of potatoes

The Genebank at the International Potato Center (CIP) conserves, characterizes and distributes wild and cultivated potato germplasm. In June 2019, the potato collection included 4442 accessions classified as traditional potatoes. Based on users’ preferences and national and international frequency of historical distribution records in the Genebank, a subset with the top 30 most distributed landraces or native potato cultivars requested was generated.

The wild and cultivated potato germplasm diversity at CIP is a public good under the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), and thus distributed with a Standard Material Transfer Agreement (SMTA) for use in research, training and breeding
