Mainstreaming agrobiodiversity in education: Building awareness and capacity for sustainable food systems

This document highlights the critical role of education in mainstreaming agrobiodiversity as a foundation for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive food systems. It argues that integrating agrobiodiversity concepts into formal and non-formal education is essential to address biodiversity loss, climate change, and malnutrition. By promoting interdisciplinary curricula, food literacy, and the integration of indigenous and local knowledge, education can shape future farmers, consumers, researchers, and policymakers who value and sustainably use crop diversity.
