Alhassan Dua: Selling sweetpotato vines was a risk worth taking

We will be farmers all of our lives. Even when we are dead our children will still be farmers.

“To market our roots and vines, we make announcement through our local community radio and village gatherings such as funerals.

We will be farmers all of our lives. When this (sweetpotato) project ends we will still plant them. Even when we are dead our children will still be farmers.

Just selling vines is a risk but it was a good one. Even our neighbors can see it. We can sell the vines and make money to send our children to school. It was a risk worth taking.”
