CIP to Host Training School on Using Potato Biodiversity in Breeding

The European Association of Potato Research’s website recently announced the advent of a new entry-level training school on using potato diversity in breeding called G2P-SOL.

In the framework of G2P-SOL, the International Potato Center (CIP) will organize a training school where participants will learn about crop biodiversity and how genetic resources can be used in pre-breeding.

The program will take place at the CIP location in Lima, Peru between November 5-7, 2019. As mentioned above, the school is aimed at junior potato breeders and researchers from Latin America who are interested in potato diversity, how to utilize this in breeding, and the use of modern breeding techniques. The course will be bilingual: in English and Spanish.
