Launch of Partnership for Root and Tuber Crops
The International Potato Center (CIP) and partners will officially launch the Partnership for Root and Tuber Crops in Africa at the Africa Food Systems Forum.
The Partnership seeks to position Root and Tuber Crops (RTCs) as key drivers of sustainable agricultural transformation in Africa—increasing incomes, strengthening local economies, improving diets, building climate resilience, and expanding markets. Its vision is to mobilize global science, innovation, partnerships, and investments to accelerate the development and scaling of RTC-based agrifood systems across the continent through inclusive, evidence-based programs tailored to national and regional priorities.
The launch event will feature keynote addresses and a panel discussion with representatives from national and regional development organizations, the private sector, development partners, and CGIAR leadership.
