Biography
Ronald Robles is a biologist based in Lima, Peru. Ronald holds a master’s studies in Molecular Biology, working as a research assistant at CIP since 2008. His years of experience have been primarily dedicated to the characterization of sweet potato germplasm at CIP’s Genebank, which harbours the world’s largest collection of this crop. Utilizing DNA molecular tools ranging from classical PCR techniques to sequencing-generated markers, Ronald employs computational tools to analyze and document the genetic diversity of this crop. His work aims to provide valuable insights, facilitating informed decisions on the conservation and utilization of germplasm resources, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for farmers who maintain this valuable crop.
