On November 6, 2024, International Potato Center (CIP)through the CGIAR initiative on National Policies and Strategies (NPS), hosted a workshop in collaboration with the Feed the Future Global Biotech Potato Partnership project. The event took place at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Nigeria. The primary objective of the workshop was to promote awareness of the Nigeria National Potato Strategy and evaluate the progress achieved in its implementation to date. The workshop brought together 52 participants from various stakeholder groups in the potato sector, including farmers, research institutions, universities, government agencies, international NGOs, and farmer organizations. Among the attendees were 42 men and 10 women, fostering diverse discussions and collaboration to advance the potato industry in Nigeria.
