Disease free sweetpotato planting material can greatly increase yields. Detecting and preventing viral infections is a critical component in maintaining disease free planting material. To attain that end, The Crawford Fund recently sponsored two young sweetpotato scientists, Myla Deros and Wilfred Wau, from Papua New Guinea
’s National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) to attend a virus diagnostics workshop held in Queensland.
