Biography

Philip Kear is a plant biologist/breeder currently based in Yanqing District, Beijing, China. Holding a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Cornell University, Philip has dedicated over a decade to academic pursuits, focusing on the practical applications of crop biology and breeding in agriculture and food production. Presently, he serves as a Distinguished Professor at Hebei North University, Adjunct Professor at the Cornell-CAU Food Science Program, lecturing Food Biochemistry, and graduate student advisor at Nanjing Agriculture University, in addition to his role as the Country Liaison Scientist at CIP-China Center for Asia Pacific (CCCAP). His skills cover quantitative genetics and breeding, genomics, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
