Biography
Kelly Roman is an agricultural engineer based in Huancayo, Peru. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sustainable development and environmental management. She has worked with the “Biodiversity for the Future Program” at CIP, focusing on the conservation and regeneration of wild potato species. Additionally, she has contributed to an ex-situ conservation project of native potato cultivars from three regions of Peru.
Since 2019, Kelly has been part of the “Genetics, Genomics, and Crop Improvement Division,” where she has been involved in potato breeding. She has been responsible for breeding new families of improved potato clones through crossbreeding blocks at the Huancayo station.
