Biography

Sampriti Baruah is a regional research specialist for Asia based in Delhi, India. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos in Development Studies from the College of Public Affairs. Sampriti has accumulated over fourteen years of work experience and expertise in rural development, innovation, and sustainable agriculture. She joined CIP as a Development and Innovation Specialist in Hanoi, leading a project on policy advocacy for climate-smart agriculture in Vietnam and the Philippines. Later, she moved to India to lead the Small Farmers Large Field (SFLF) farming system project as the Coordinator for Asia. Her overarching goal is to enhance the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers and rural communities by improving food security, promoting climate change adaptation, and empowering gender equality within the agri-food sector.
